About Us

Welcome to Marcella's Meadow.

Our aim is to sell clothes and household items that limit our impact on the environment and are ethically produced as much as possible.

My name is Sonia and I am a mum of five. Myself and my other half David live in the Cambridgeshire countryside with our children and various animals.

Last year I started buying more from Independent stores online and loved the vast choice available. During Lockdown this intensified and I decided to investigate whether I could open up my own online store.

I have initially started by selling the vast amounts of preloved clothes that my children no longer wear. Buying Preloved reduces landfill and makes a big difference to the waste we produce. I used to rely on fast fashion items due to ease and price, but things have moved on a lot since my eldest was born in 2001. My Preloved clothes are available on my Facebook Page "Marcella's Meadow". The items are very reasonably priced and there are "vintage" clothes dating back to from before my daughter was born as I used to buy preloved items for her then as well. Also there are more recent purchases that my youngest, born in 2016 has just grown out of. I will have clothes and shoes available from newborn upwards.

This website is for my new items. I have been speaking to some ethical brands of children's clothes and have two brands in stock so far on the website. I have also been speaking to some brands in Europe and will hopefully be launching with these very soon. I will also be approaching other brands for children's clothing as well as adults clothing. My own wardrobe has recently undergone a huge change and is like a colourful rainbow when you open the doors now. Who said adult clothing cannot be fun?

I want to work with ethical brands who have a good attitude to how they treat their staff and the environment.

I would also like to stock environmentally friendly cleaning products so will be busy sourcing a supplier for this.

I am very grateful for any support for my new business and I hope you find some things you love.
